Lauch Windows Task Manager.
End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.
Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:WindowsSystem32.
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:WindowsSystem32dllcache.
Lauch RegEdit.
Browse to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoft
Windows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonNotify
Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents
Reboot Windows XP.

Right at the start of this hack it tells u to remove WgaTray.exe from the processes tree in Task Manager. The moment u try to remove it it gets replaced immediately with another WgaTray.exe file and the more u remove more stars come up on system trays and once u place the mouse over them they disappear but 1 is always there. On trying to complete the rest of the hack Wgatraqy.exe in the system32 folder does not get deleted even in safe mode but gets deleted from the dllcache folder. The star at the tray no longer exists and the WgaTray.exe process is also not there in the processes tab of TM. But still the validation does not work as I am unable to install wmp 11 or the other files which requires validation of the windows OS. Please can someone come up with a hack by which the validation is no longer required and stuffs like wmp 11 and winamp can be installed. TIA to any1 who reads it and tries to give me a solution.

Thx guys for helping out in removing this WGA shit. The update by Alex as posted by ken is very unclear to me compared to the first posted hack. The ken post suggests to look for 2 License agreement consecutively in the Argument column with Check WGA in the Dialog column after clicking Control Event. There is only 1 License Agreement I get in the Argument Column with Check WGA in the Dialog box and a License Agreement is there just above that line in the Dialog column. What is it that I need to do to with the ken update is very unclear? Do I drop both those rows and then follow the first update or what? If anyone can clear this up for me I would be extremely grateful as all of u know how irritating that WGA is. Please help me out and let me know how to get rid of the WGA with the updates provided.
