Re-Stream Video with VLC

VLC media player is a great all-in-one program for playing your day to day video’s but it can do much more than just look pretty and play videos. We have already learned how to stream anything using VLC but how about re-streaming an already existing stream?

Here’s how to do it:

1. Start up VLC an click the Open Button

2. Next select the Network Tab and click on the HTTP option to enter the original stream’s URL

3. Now select the Stream/Save option and click on the Settings button

4. Finally select the MMSH option and enter your computer’s IP address and the port of your choice.

The Transcoding options and the Time to live are optional settings that you can enable if you want to modify the way the video is streamed from your pc.

5. Click OK all the way and re-stream away!
