After the WWDC ‘08 Keynote, everyone wanted this iPhone game, it received almost as much hype as the iPhone itself. Super Monkey Ball from SEGA definitely has some good qualities, however it does have some bad qualities as well. First off, this game costs $9.99 which might be a little steep for some.
Super Monkey Ball sports some great graphics and almost proves itself as one of the best games created for the iPhone. There are over a 100 leves to play which means you might not get bored from this for a while.
So without further delay we would like to offer you the cracked version of this game. We would also like to inform you that this release has not been tested on jailbroken/unlocked iPhone’s running firmware 2.0 which is impossible at the moment for the lack of an unlock out there.
How do you install this game?
1. Make sure you are on firmware 2.0 with OpenSSH installed.
2. Download the Super Monkey Ball Cracked file and extract the .app folder from the archive to your desktop.
3. Create a folder called “Documents” in /var/mobile. Set the permissions to 777
4. Upload the .app folder extracted before to the /Applications folder and set permissions of ALL files inside to 777. Here is a video showing how to do this.
Reboot/Respring and Enjoy!

i have a suspicion that the “Board Administrator” could be a person posing as it…however i am not sure how to verify their identity if it is the real one or another person posing as the administrator…also i realized that the email adress is phony…if you go in itunes and click “forgot password?” you will see that “The Apple ID specified does not exist.” meaning that the email address is phony and probably won’t work unless the real administrator or anyone will post their real email.

nope havent…read my comment above? unless some company is willing to pay $10 for everyone (which i doubt) seems like no one is getting SMB unless someone sticks it on the jailbreak community which could take a while

Sorry for the trouble guys, Here is a possible solution :
1. Open the .ipa file using WinRAR
2. Next you will see a file named “iTunesMetadata.plist”. Open this file using notepad.
3. Replace where it says “freefromhaklabs@emailqweq.com” with your iTunes store email address
4. For extra safety measures, change where it says “Price” from 9990 to 000.
5. Save the file and update the archive when prompted
6. Import it into iTunes, double click it, and enter your password. You can now register it on 5 more computers
Now try and install the app again, it should work this time hopefully.

ok, so i did all the steps above, including entering my password to authorize it, which it then gives me a message saying that i successfully authorized it, but then when i sync it to my ipod it says it was not added because i am not authorized to use it on this computer, but i did that step! any help?

Hey guys, I’m on a Mac, and I don’t know what alternatives there are to WinRAR. I’ve tried Stuffit, but when i finish modding the file, the file stays as a folder, and it doesn’t add to my iTunes Library. Any help?

replace the “.ipa” with “.zip” and you can extract it.
Once you have edited the plist archive the folder again as a .zip through Stuffit which you can then rename into “.ipa”.

Using a program like BetterZip will do the job. Rename it to .zip as before but don’t extract it. Just edit the plist and save it and rename the .zip back to .ipa.
However… I’m having the same problem as Nick with the authorization issue. I hope this can be resolved soon.

in principle, there must be some ways to crack, but we need the more skilled person
i mean, you wont expect to crack it with only modifying an XML file.

I just changed the file extension to .rar and opened it using StuffIt Archive Manager, extracted the .plist file, edited it using Plist Editor Pro (free on Apple’s website under developer tools), added the file back to the .rar archive and replaced the original, then change the extension back to .ipa.
I never compressed/decrompressed anything, because when I first tried that it gave an error saying that the file was not a valid application. This was probably due to the fact that the compression was different from that which was originally used. All you have to do is change the format in which the archive is read, then change it back.

Open the ip with WINRAR or whatever. Change the Monkey Ball.app into lol.app…
Install the damn app on your phone/pod. After installing change the name in the ipa back to Monkey Ball.app.
Hit synchronize. It will say “bla bla not authorized” klick ok and then again synchronize.
The Monkey Ball App will install. Now its on your device.
….For me it crashes after the spash screen !!

If the apps keep crashing on the iphone its something to do with the springboard DRM. We need a patch for that, which will probably be easily recievable after a jailbreak. Just keep an eye on winpwn and the pwnage tool. Not sure if theres any other way but labrat will probably find it if there was.

Those names show up into iTunes as purchaser when you click get info. So i guess you change that name to what name you used in your iTunes account.

If we can find a way to use the iPhone as a disk drive, we can go into the SpringBoard app and the :N54AP.plist” FILE may be the answer, because this file is the prefs file for the springboard, and we *could* change some parts of it to patch the SpringBoard.

tried it..still appears in itunes…still authorized it and still doesnt sync to my ipod…i might not want to speak so soon because right now as i type this im temporarily taking all the other apps off my ipod except SMB so it syncs faster cuz it takes me forever to sync b/c it backs up every time from anywhere from 5-30 mins so yeah..

tried phoneview and it doesnt do much…its essentially ssh with a wire…it takes things off and on the ipod/iphone…but the one i downloaded was a demo/trial and i could only copy so much off and on so i dont think its worth it…besides what is that supposed to help us with?

thanks for the input David, the crack definitely needs some disassociation form the springboard. The plist files and .snif files are not the only ones we need to look at.
I hope the jailbreak for 2.0 comes soon since that would help test out some of my other theories….having no access to the root system is sorta paralyzing

i renamed the .app and it bypassed authorization/installed; ran it went to splashscreen/back out.
..but just resynced ipod. it removed monkeyball then asked for authorization in iTunes.

somehow i had this idea that we need to somehow edit the app’s strings so that all the file names match up…aka…since David told me to change the Monkey Ball.app to whatever i felt like…i think since that is the main app…we need to change all the app’s programs and strings so that the app launches the that app with that name…otherwise the program behind the app will be trying to run “Monkey Ball.app” when it should be running the “nameofchangedapp.app” so does anyone know what file we should edit so it runs the rite file? i think this is why its crashing on us…

The plist refers to a single file in a folder, so it would not make a difference, as long as we don’t put any other files into the same directory.
But since I’m only a musician, I can’t do much about it, all I can do is use my existing knowledge from training to help. =] To everyone: good luck on the cracking!

I think we should put the actual app aside for a while and focus on cracking the stock apps now (i.e. SpringBoard/AppStore). The Super Monkey Ball app has already been through everything up until the splash, so we really should stop wasting our time on cracking the app, rather than cracking the OS system.

You cant play the game. Itunes generates a crypted file on the ipod/iphone. in this file every purchased or installed app is listed. this file gets decrypted through the device id. so you cant get monkey ball to run with that file from another ipod/iphone.
when pwnage tool will be released this check could be disabled or the device id could be changed.

indeed it is “10 freaking dollars” but why pay for something when you potentially can get it for free? its like someone giving you 10 dollars…you wouldnt deny it would you? and sides…the 10 bucks can be used on something else…like 2.5 gallons of gas…considering its like $4/gal where i live

instead of replacing the file all together try to find the code that they incrypte your name with and crack it all apps have different encryption try to find patttern

Since we know that we also need to edit the sc_info folder first someone take the .sinf out adn replace with another and change couple things in it…. and if that doesnt work test with the .supp to find out which one is holding us back…than we can determine which part of the file and so on… its like elimination…..if you cahnge a part of a file and it alows you to put on ipod that god…you just have to figure out what u need to fix if it crashes!
