iPhone firmware 2.0.1 has been out for a few days now and sports a good amount of bugfixes. One espicially good fix is the keyboard lag that many people experienced in firmware 2.0. Well this new firmware should fix that problem.

Here is how to get to firmware 2.0.1 using windows on a 1st generation iPhone.

Files Needed:

1. WinPwn 2.0.0.4
2. Bootloader 3.6 & 4.6 Files
3. iPhone Firmware 2.0.1

Step 1: Launch WinPwn and click the Browse .ipsw button. Select the firmware 2.0.1 you downloaded above.

Step 2: Once this is done, click the IPSW Builder button. Choose the settings you want in the window that appears.

Step 3: Once you have all the settings you want click the Build .ipsw and select where you want to save the new custom firmware. Now the custom firmware will be built, this may take a few minutes.

Step 4: Once the custom firmware is done, click the iPwner button. It will ask you for the custom firmware file so choose that file once it asks.

Step 5: Once your firmware is Pwned, Put your iPhone into DFU mode. To do so:

- Press and hold the Home and Sleep Button together

- Once the screen turns off, wait for 2 seconds and let go off the sleep button

- Keep holding the Home button until your PC recognizes the iPhone in DFU mode.

Step 6: In iTunes Shift+Click the Restore button and find the custom IPSW Firmware file you created.

Step 7: The restore will start. You should see bootneuter automatically come up and run once the process is complete.

Well it seems like the long awaited Pwnage Tool has been released by the iPhone dev team which gives you total hackable control over the latest firmware 2.0. Sadly the tool has been released only on the mac platform and windows users are asked to drool for a bit longer.

Well, we don’t like that idea so here is how to get to firmware 2.0 using windows on a 1st generation iPhone.

Step 1: Use WinPWN 1.0 to PWN your iPhone running firmware 1.1.4

Step 2: Install BootNeuter (Available Via Installer).

Step 3: Run BootNeuter and have it Neuter your iPhone

Step 4: Make sure your iTunes version is at 7.7

Step 5: Grab a pre-created IPSW Made with PWNAGE 2.0.

Step 6: Put your iPhone in DFU mode :

1.) First download the application that puts your iPhone in DFU mode

2.) Extract the downloaded archive to the C: Drive, it should look like this: “C:/DFU/”

3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

4.) Goto Start -> run

5.) Next type in �c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu�

6.) Wait for iPhone to show a �white� screen

Step 7: In iTunes Shift+Click the Restore button and find the custom IPSW Firmware file you downloaded.

Step 9: The restore will start. You should see bootneuter automatically come up and run once the process is complete.

After the WWDC ’08 Keynote, everyone wanted this iPhone game, it received almost as much hype as the iPhone itself. Super Monkey Ball from SEGA definitely has some good qualities, however it does have some bad qualities as well. First off, this game costs $9.99 which might be a little steep for some.

Super Monkey Ball sports some great graphics and almost proves itself as one of the best games created for the iPhone. There are over a 100 leves to play which means you might not get bored from this for a while.

So without further delay we would like to offer you the cracked version of this game. We would also like to inform you that this release has not been tested on jailbroken/unlocked iPhone’s running firmware 2.0 which is impossible at the moment for the lack of an unlock out there.

How do you install this game?

1. Make sure you are on firmware 2.0 with OpenSSH installed.

2. Download the Super Monkey Ball Cracked file and extract the .app folder from the archive to your desktop.

3. Create a folder called “Documents” in /var/mobile. Set the permissions to 777

4. Upload the .app folder extracted before to the /Applications folder and set permissions of ALL files inside to 777. Here is a video showing how to do this.

Reboot/Respring and Enjoy!

So, how to install ipa files on an iPhone or iPod Touch?

1. You need to be on jailbroken iPhone with Cydia installed. For this, you may use QuickPwn, PwnageTool, or WinPwn. See my tutorials for on how to jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch using any of these tools.

2. Install OpenSSH from Cydia on your iPhone. Click on Cydia and then click Install (Sections)>Networking>OpenSSH then click Install>Confirm (if you get a running out of disk space error click “ok”).

3. Log into WinSCP. The first time you try to login you may get a connection timeout error, click retry several times (up to 20 times!) and it should work. If you still get an error, reboot your iPod/iPhone and try again.

4. Navigate to /private/var/mobile/ folder

5. Set the permission of the Applications folder to 777 (make sure reclusive is checked).

6. Stay in the /private/var/mobile/ folder.

7. Create a folder called “Documents” in the /private/var/mobile/ folder. Make sure to spell “Documents” correctly, with a capital “D”.

8. Set the permission to 777.

9. Navigate to the root level and open the /Applications folder.

10. Create a folder called “Documents” inside the /Applications folder and set permission to 777.

*Note: You will only need to create these two Documents folders once*

11. Go to <root> /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework

12. Rename the file “MobileInstallation” to “MobileInstallation.bak”

13. Download the patched MobileInstallation file. Note that you have to download the patched file for the firmware you are running. ie. if you are running 2.2, you need the MobileInstallation 2.2 patched file.

14. Place the patched file into the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework folder and set the permissions 775 for the patched MobileInstallation file. If there is some type of extension (ie .dylib), then you need to remove that extension.

15. Reboot your iPhone/iPod Touch

16. Download cracked api Games and Apps from appulo.us or any site you prefer.

17. Download at least one App from Apple App Store (Free or Paid). What I do is I download one app from the App Store using iTunes, then I sync my iPhone and reboot it. Then I download one app from the App Store on the iPhone and reboot the phone. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Otherwise you will get an error! [Only need to do this once]

18. Drag and drop the .ipa file you downloaded into the iTunes Application library.

19. Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch and enjoy!

Errors:

The application “XXXXXXX” cannot be opened
Fix: Reboot your iPhone or iPod

0xE800001 Error:

FIX: Change usb port and reboot your iphone/ipod Touch.
If this doesn’t work try going into: Control panel->System->Device Manager->Universal Serie Bus Controller->Right click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver and update driver.

0xE800013 Error:

You get this error when you already have the app
FIX: Simply delete the .app folder that u have ssh’d and reboot.

Garmin GPS systems are great if you don’t know how to find your way to an address but their maps often get outdated in a few years as new infrastructure is developed in your city. Many find the $80 update somewhat of a pinch in their pockets so here is a solution for those people!

Using this guide you will be able to update your Garmin GPS system to the latest (2009) map data, all you need is a little bit of patience and careful reading.

So let’s get started.

NOTE: The Garmin 2010 Update guide is now up!

What do you need?

• - Garmin Key-generator (here), (here) or (here)
• - Garmin North America Map Update 2009
• - A Garmin GPS with a USB cord

Once you have those files, follow the instructions below:

1) Download torrent, unzip the completed download to your desktop, open up the folder.

2) Go to Windows\Msi\ folder in the folder extracted and run CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi if you want english language.

4) Select a directory to install or just leave it as the default and move on.

5) Once the installer is finished a Mapinstall icon should be on your desktop now. Run it.

6) Get Unit ID from your GPS device. Turn on unit, tap agree to pass agreement.

7) Tap: Settings –> Systems –> About See Unit ID: Write it down.

8.) Run the Key-generator

9) Put in the unit id (the # you got from your gps’s about screen) in the top box

10) Next, in the Select Map Product area of the keygen choose custom mapset and enter 325 when prompted:

11) Now, click Generate at the bottom of the program & copy the Unlock Key generated at the bottom.

Now to install the maps!

12) When you run Mapinstall it will tell you that your maps are locked, click on the unlock maps button

13) Now a new window will appear, click the Add button on the right side. Enter unlock key you copied from the keygen to the top box

14) Add the key and you will be prompt after 30 seconds of scanning for where you want to install the maps.

15) For an SD card, choose the drive. For the GPS, choose the GPS drive letter, mostly this is chosen automatically.

15 a.) If you don’t want to buy an SD card, you’ll have to remove your old maps from the GPS device. Plug in your GPS using the USB cord into your computer, open the device, and find a file named gmapprom in the folder named Garmin which will be the biggest file on your GPS at almost 1GB or somewhere around there. Backup this file to your desktop and save it in case something goes wrong, this file has all your old map data. After backing that file up delete it from the GPS.

16) You should now see a screen with the map of North America. Choose the areas you want on your GPS system, the selected areas will turn pink once clicked.

17) Finally click the Finish button. Now the process of building and transferring the maps will begin and this whole process takes about an hour.

Once done you will have the new 2009 maps on your GPS system.
